Happy Teachers’ Day
Dr Anita Aujayeb.
À l’heure du tout à l’image et du buzz sans suite, «l’express» souhaite faire découvrir la plume de poètes, de chanteurs, d’écrivains et de tous ceux qui jettent leur âme sur le papier, et qui mettent en mots des réflexions profondes.
40 different personalities in each class you move in for teaching
They are there, tired, relieved, simply in rows sitting
Waiting, grumbling, yawning, in books following
The whiteboard filled, I explain
I am the teacher, one name, the same
While 40 pairs of eyes have 40 different names
I am their teacher!
Different names, with personalities varied
Mindsets diverse, all to my class carried
Their lives, their loves, their hatred, their qualms
I am the teacher who joins all the palms
All the lines, all the dots, their fate, every morn
I am the teacher!
Some love me, some hate me, some try to survive
Some want to bury me alive
As the letters, the words, the phrases, the sentences
Build their careers, their world, their life’s sentences
I am the teacher whose life rotates here in all tenses
I am the teacher!
Finally, the 40 and more faces reach 40 and more destinations
Some happy, others dejected, remains but the connection
When I took a hand, touched a heart, a mind opened
No one is left out unburdened
A candle is lit, faith gets enlightened
I am the teacher
I am the teacher who sculpts the rocks hardened
Until a man is shaped, a thank you card is made
When in a random place, I hear “He Miss”
I feel I have been by God graced
Yesterday, today and forever
I remain their teacher.
