À l’heure du tout à l’image et du buzz sans suite, «l’express» souhaite faire découvrir la plume de poètes, de chanteurs, d’écrivains et de tous ceux qui jettent leur âme sur le papier, et qui mettent en mots des réflexions profondes.
As the year comes to an end,
everything becomes questionable.
You begin to take inventory—
of what you’ve done,
how much you’ve achieved,
where you stand in your career,
in your personal life.
The objectives left unmet,
the milestones untouched,
the quiet weight
of falling short.
Everything turns into a measure.
The struggles you endured all year
suddenly feel negligible,
as if endurance alone
doesn’t deserve to be counted.
It all reduces to what you haven’t done.
And then comes the hollowness.
While everyone else is rejoicing,
you find yourself alone with your thoughts.
You don’t feel festive—
even as the world blooms with lights and decorations.
You don’t smile.
You don’t join the crowd.
Yet you feel lost among familiar faces,
carrying a heaviness you can’t quite explain.
You don’t want to be harsh with yourself,
because you’re trying—
trying to be grateful,
to acknowledge the good that did happen,
even when it feels small beside everything else.
