● WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY ? Tomorrow the world celebrates the environment. The theme chosen this year by the United Nations is ?Melting Ice ? A Hot Topic?? The ministry of Environment is planning a series of activities including a youth rally in Flacq to sensitize students and citizens on climate change and its impact; a 5-day panel presentation and poster exhibition at the Rajiv Gandhi Science Centre; a prize giving for the Trochetia Award and Environmental Reporting Award; and a special ?Dossier de l?environnement? on MBC TV.
● COMPETITION BILL ? This is one of the most important bills that the government want to introduce during its mandate. The Competition Bill will finally be presented to the cabinet next Friday. This bill is expected to put an end to monopolies and cartels while favouring competition.
