They can come in any shape and size

Sometimes they’re silly and giggly,

Sometimes they’re dangerous but wise

Some are glittery and shiny,

Like fireworks in the dark,

Some are pastel and boring,

And very, very stark

Some secrets can be shared,

They’re not that embarrassing,

Others are to be kept to yourself,

They’re not meant for broadcasting

Some secrets don’t really matter,

You can actually forget them for a while,

Others are with you all day long,

Hidden in every tear and every smile

A secret is something really special,

A private, confidential fact or feeling,

Something so powerful, that if disclosed

Could send minds reeling

So, like I so rightly said,

Just a few dozen words before,

A secret is just a secret,

Nothing less, nothing more…
