● <B>STRATEGIES TO COPE WITH FOOD SCARCITY </B>? With the rising problem of global food shortage, the government has come up with some strategies so as not to depend too much on imports and suffer the drastic consequences of food scarcity. In this context, the government has decided to help planters and farmers with better support and training so that they can rationalise their methods and get better results in their output.

● <B> 24 CASUALTIES IN BUS COLLISION </B>? A major accident took place at noon last Monday on Old Flacq Road at Khoyratty in the North, involving three buses, among which one of a private operator and one of the National Transport Corporation (NTC). The accident took place when the private operator?s bus, which was overtaking the NTC one, hit the latter. The third bus, coming from the opposing direction, could not avoid the collision. The impact was so violent that the back of the NTC bus was totally destroyed. Twenty-four passengers in the three buses have been injured.
