Princess Beatrice reveals all
Recognise this glamorous young lady? Her mother's toe-sucking exploits with financial adviser Johnny Bryan made her the most notorious member of the Royal Family. But Princess Beatrice says she has nothing but love and respect for her mother, the Duchess of York. Speaking in her ?first interview?, the 17-year-old describes her life as a young Royal - and says she wouldn't swap it for anything.
The fifth in line to the throne told the Tatler magazine: ?I wouldn't trade my life for anyone else's. I know I'm very lucky. I love being who I am and feel very happy with that. ?A lot of it is quite normal, scooting around the supermarket with a shopping trolley and things like that. With one parent being a prince and the other being an amazing sort of...??Commoner?? interrupted her mother, bursting into laughter.
Beatrice describes her parents as ?the best people in the world? and said she considered ?mum? as top of the list of her best friends.?If I wanted to go to a party, then if mum comes too that is fine with me,? she said. She said her father was ?very kind and thoughtful? and she thought he had received unfair criticism from the media. She described the Queen as ?the most amazing woman anyone could ever meet? who she ?loved to bits?.
When asked if romance was in the air, Beatrice, who is unattached, said: ?What do I look for in a guy? I knew this was coming. Well, I have a huge thing about trust and as long as I can trust the person, it doesn't much matter. I have to trust them and have them make me laugh, and everything else is fine.?
Beatrice said she did not see herself as a ?stereotypical princess, so people often expect one thing when they first me and I give them another.? Her likes and dislikes reflected those of many teenagers as she said her favourite TV programmes were Desperate Housewives and The OC, her dream pin-up was Orlando Bloom and her fashion idol was Carrie from Sex and the City.
