<B>Bungalow owners claim justice. </B> After their request for a judicial review on the bail renewal on the ?Pas Géométriques?, bungalow owners are now asking for the cancellation of the option letters issued by the government since 19th May. The owners complain that only the ?Pas Géométriques? were targeted. The ministry of Housing and Lands gave them six months to renew their contracts but they are now asking that it waits for the court ruling on the Finance Act before asking for the renewal. Owners actually protest against the changes to the zoning, which have not been the subject of any consultations. They claim the same justice as in the case of Bénitiers Island where the government agreed to give back the island in a spirit of fairness.

<B>Ambulance sacked. </B> An ambulance of the Service d??Aide Médicale d?Urgence? was sacked last Tuesday in Brisée Verdière. A group of persons living in the neighbourhood who were waiting for the ambulance broke its front windscreen and prevented the doctors from doing their job. They blamed the ambulance for coming too late to save the life of Gilbert Bonarien who died while he was on the road to hospital. A report to the ministry of Health, however, makes it clear that the vehicle arrived in a reasonable period of time. The Criminal Investigation Division is enquiring into this incident.

<B>Brand new school inspectorate. </B>Changes will be brought to the school inspectorate system. Today it is linked to the idea of control and inspection and it ?creates resistance and tensions from teachers,? revealed the minister of Education, Dharam Gokhool. He now wants a new concept that better corresponds to the reform programme of the government. The ministry appears in favour of taking everyone on board in addition to inspectors, rectors, heads of department, teachers and parents. There are only four pedagogic inspectors at the ministry of Education at the moment.
