La World Cup Beach Soccer à Maurice en 2008 ?

Une Coupe du monde à Maurice. Tel est le projet que la Fédération internationale de football (Fifa) entend concrétiser en 2008. L?une des grandes résolutions de l?instance suprême du football, c?est que notre pays organise la World Cup Beach Soccer en 2008. C?est ce qu?a annoncé le responsable du département développement et assistance financière de la Fifa, Pascal Torres, à la fermeture du Com-Unity Workshop à Trianon.
Hier après-midi, Pascal Torres a affirmé que la Fifa apportera tout son soutien à la Mauritius Football Association (MFA) pour proposer un plan au gouvernement concernant le Beach Soccer.
Ce plan débouchera sur la candidature de Maurice pour l?organisation de cette compétition. « Il y a du concret dans ce projet et la Fifa donnera tout son support à la MFA pour que la Coupe du monde puisse se tenir ici », affirme Pascal Torres.
À la fin du mois de novembre, la MFA aura à soumettre un projet pour le Beach Soccer au gouvernement et le soutien de la Fifa suivra.
La fédération internationale apportera son support technique de même que logistique. Ainsi, des techniciens de la Fifa seront dépêchés sur place pour aider à la mise en place de la structure du Beach Soccer avec, entre autres, la formation des entraîneurs et arbitres.
Le projet qui se matérialisera dans les mois à venir c?est que Maurice soit dotée d?un terrain synthétique. Après des mois d?études, le choix s?est porté sur le stade de Quartier-Militaire. Les techniciens de la Fifa seront prochainement sur place pour démarrer les travaux. Ces derniers apporteront aussi leur connaissance pour améliorer l?état des pelouses dans les autres stades.
En janvier, une équipe menée par Jean-Michel Bénézet viendra en mission dans le pays pour aider à redéfinir et aussi à restructurer les clubs. Ça passe par la formations des éducateurs et aussi des entraîneurs de l?élite. À bien voir, la Fifa est déterminée à venir en aide au football mauricien.
Lors des trois jours de conférence de la Fifa, des résolutions a la pelle ont été prises et la MFA a pris l?engagement de les mettre en application. « Au nom de la fédération, je prends l?engagement de mener à bien ces résolutions », affirme le président de la fédération mauricienne de football, Vinod Persunoo, lors de la cérémonie de clôture de ce Workshop.
Le développement du football féminin, l?amélioration des infrastructures, la mise sur pied d?une commission de la médecine sportive, un plan de marketing pour attirer les sponsors, la mise en place d?un media committee, la désignation d?un media officer ou encore la publication de l?histoire du football mauricien, sont autant d?engagements que la MFA a pris avec par moment le support du gouvernement.
LES RÉSOLUTIONS DE CETTE CONFÉRENCE
Relationship Management
● 1. The Governement and Municipalities together with the Mauritius Football Association will continue to exploit avenues to achieve further development of infrastructure with particular reference to the following : (i) Development of grassroots football facilities. (ii) Renovation and lighting of Stadia
● 2. Government to look into the support including incentivisation of sponsorship including tax holidays.
● 3. The Government will be requested to continue direct sponsorship to top league clubs with a proviso that in return all these clubs will establish junior level team in the age categories.
● 4. The MFA will facilitate quartely meetings with stakeholders with effect from 2007, for purpose of information exchanges
● 5. The MFA will before the end of 2006 establish a Sport Medicine Commission with the assistance of the Ministry of Health
● 6. The MFA will embark on an accelerated grassroots football development in close collaboration with the Ministry of Education in line with the MFA vision.
● 7. The MFA will with immediate effect work closely with Women?s in Sports Committee under the Ministry of Sports and relevant Enbassies resident in Mauritius in an effort to develop Women?s Football
● 8. The MFA will continue to invest their energy and time in the following : (i) A democratic, transparent and effective administration of football. (ii)Proper, timely communicated and well thought out planning
Media
● 1. The MFA has pledged to improve stadium media infrastructure and conditions for the upcoming matches against Sudan and Seychelles Implementation of starting lists at matches, as well as, providing bibs for photographers, adequate security of the media working areas and a dedicated official who will look after the interest of the media on the match days.
● 2 The MFA will appoint a public relations/media officer to take up his position at the beginning of 2007.
● 3. The MFA and MBC will finalise an agreement related to TV coverage and publicity.
● 4. Journalists have pledged to use upgraded stadium medium facilities and designed areas and no longer enter the pitch area. Also, the media will attend official press conferences and other media activities at international matches and important games.
● 5.The MFA will draft a communications strategy plan to provide news and coverage of women?s football. MFA will be proactive and produce a monthly women?s football newsletter.
● 6. The MFA will establish a media committee.
● 7. The archives and history of Mauritian football will be set up and organised. Within six months, the MFA will publish the international history and results of Mauritian football.
Marketing
● 1. The MFA will establish a marketing plan within two months and will present this to prospective sponsors.
● 2. Within one month (November) a plan for beach soccer will be presented to government, by the MFA, with a view to establish the game in Mauritius and bid to host the FIFA beach soccer World Cup, 2008
● 3. Potential sponsors present at the Com-Unity Workshop have committed to meet with the MFA and look at participating in football sponsorship.
