?When I first saw Mauritius, it was on television as many Indian movies are produced here. I was fascinated by the beauty of Mauritius! Today I estimate myself very lucky of being here indeed.

Coming back to what I said, I was struck by the physical aspect of the island. I firmly believe that Mauritius is unique in the world for its physical assets. My first impression of Mauritius was that it is a very green country. I think this is what makes its beauty and its reputation for tourists.

It is one of the greatest places for holidays, if not, the greatest place for holidays! It is true we are facing some difficulties in our economy. I think the government should put more emphasis on tourism.

Furthermore, on this island you have beautiful views. In this context, Mauritius lands itself very well for the need of a painter. In fact, the countryside and the beaches found in Mauritius are unique in the world.

In other parts of the world, life is more metropolitan. I was living in Calcutta and I have noticed how life is different compared to here. Over there, it was so noisy and hectic. Here you have places like Caudan or Domaine du Chasseur.

If I had to give one advice to the Mauritian people, it would be to help keep the country as such. This will boost the economy!
