?John Thivy had replaced Yash Dev?

I note that in your issue of the 28th February 2005 at page 12 under the heading Histoire, Mr Yvan Martial in an interesting article affirms that Mr John Thivy was the first Indian Commissioner in Mauritius. Allow me to differ with due respect.

I was about 19 years old in 1948 and if my memory does not fail me ? I recollect them about that time (1948 - 1949) ? Mr Dharam Yash Dev was the first Indian Trade Commissioner taking office in Mauritius. He had an overwhelming reception when he landed and stayed in the country for sometime before he was replaced by Mr John Thivy.

I avail myself of this opportunity to thank Mr Martial warmly for his articles about the historical events which took place in Mauritius in the recent past. They always catch attention.
