Where are the inspectors at BBRH ?

As citizens of Beau-Bassin-Rose-Hill, we would like to bring to your attention the following : Hugnin Road is very narrow and congested between l?Abattoir Rd and St.-Patrick. There is no ?trottoir?. A few people have already been killed along this road including one Mr Irlen, own uncle of Rama Valayden. An urgent solution must be found.

Although Hugnin Road carries very dense traffic at its juction with Ambrose Street, the traffic lights give equal priority to traffic from Ambrose, which carries much less traffic. This causes massive queueing along Hugnin, pollution and wastage of precious fuel at this juction. Bus stops at this junction are also wrongly located.

Opposite Stanley State Bank stands an old and rusted building (called old cyber tower). The iron sheets on the roof are loose and are held by concrete blocks. Mauritian technology : part of the roof is supported by the traffic light post ! With the coming cyclones, some of the precious voters might be decapitated !

We get the impression that the municipal inspectors are simply inexistent when we see the general laisser-aller : building and walls covered by ugly posters ; narrow roads in Stanley and Mont-Roches should have been declared one-way streets 20 years ago, no pavement for pedestrians ... The list is endless.

Citizens of BBRH who have been crying in vain
