She has been involved in politics for four years but she has recently changed sides. The ?ideology and behaviour? of the MMM ?as well as its rich history since its birth? are all reasons why she has decided to join this party. As a lawyer, she has been able to ?see the problems which society is facing at the moment? and feels she is ?in a position to help?. As a woman, she also has a particular interest in gender issues and wants to reduce discrimination against women. ?True there is still much inequality at the expense of the fair sex and I expect to contribute to make society give a fair deal to women. Political involvement and action are indispensable to set things right and to establish fairness?. For her, MMM already has got lots of achievements as far as woman rights and empowerment are concerned. ?I shall give a strong shoulder to the women?s wing of the party in its activities particularly women in rural areas. Also in the field of Small and Medium Enterprises, I can do a lot for women to inform and to motivate them to empower themselves economically. I feel as a woman lawyer that there is an awful lot to do in educating our girls and women regarding their rights and duties,? she concludes.

Vijay KUSHNA "MMM gives the chance to young people"

Vijay Kushna is not a ?novice? in politics nor in the MMM. ?As soon as I finished secondary school, I started in the young wing of the MMM in 1994? he explains. He then only took a little rest in 1997 to be able to concentrate fully on his diploma in management and on his job at the Irrigation Authority until 2000. But then, he could not resist anymore and flew to Great Britain in order to study law because ?law gives some maturity. You are in a better position to hold debates in Parliament on bills afterwards?. He knows that politics is not the sole way of serving one?s country but ?that?s what I chose?. He admires the MMM because it is a party where ?there is a lot of discipline and where young people are encouraged to bring their own contribution?.
