Financial year 2021-2022: MRA makes Rs 112.6 billion in revenue
A document tabled in the National Assembly showed that the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) had raised Rs 112.6 billion in revenue during the financial year 2021- 2022, out of which Rs 106.5 billion was transferred to the Consolidated Fund. In its annual report, the MRA credited measures such as the Government Wage Assistance Scheme and the Self-Employed Assistance Scheme for keeping consumption up during the Covid-19 pandemic, estimating that income tax receipts had risen by 21 percent and VAT by 34 percent, as well as improved debt collection which reached Rs 2.6 billion in 2021-2022.
