Broken heart fuels a trail of blood,
Inking the story of a parched soul
On parchment paper.
An unruly tempest of words
arises as,
Unrequited love begs validation.
The mighty pen in a poet’s hand
Makes a reader believe her heart
is on a mend
While it’s merely an
imagery’s vine
Dancing to the tune of
the poet’s mind.
What’s true and what’s not?
Around floating forget-me-nots.
What’s real and what’s a facade?
All a result of a poet’s
words brocade.

Leena Auckel Chakoury
A Doctor by profession, she harbours a keen interest in creative writing. Her writings have gleaned several recognitions and awards on international platforms and is a published author of a collection of poems titled “Of Whispers and Bridges”.
