To my little friend,
With those four tiny paws,
Winning hearts in only one go,
You healed my wounds,
As if they were yours,
You adored me the most,
Despite all my flaws,
You made me yours,
Without wanting more,
You were my biggest support,
When times felt like shadows,
The most beautiful present,
God would create,
You are that soulmate, humanity
would claim,
What brought you to such a fate,
Always begging for a plate,
Always looking for a place,
Always running away,
Always using that tail,
To be spared, to feel safe,
You are the nicest present a GOD
would create,
But why is it you,
Holding all this pain,
Why is it you,
Despite prayers being made,
Is still being known as ‘stray’

Dovishka Muskaan Shaib
A 22-year-old writer, student at the University of Mauritius, her passion for writing started when she was 14 years old, from authoring short stories to now writing poems. Her main inspiration comes from the bright side of life, from hope, positivity, optimism, courage, love, kindness and many more.
