Plumes engagées
Expression of gratitude to the Lord (Part One)
Krishnanand Guptar.
À l’heure du tout à l’image et du buzz sans suite, «l’express» souhaite faire découvrir la plume de poètes, de chanteurs, d’écrivains et de tous ceux qui jettent leur âme sur le papier, et qui mettent en mots des réflexions profondes.
Oh my Lord, my heartiest reverence
For an angel to soothe my senescence,
An archangel to lull my acute pains,
Lend me a hand to lift me from my strains.
Please accept my most sincere gratitude
For a spouse to appease my solitude,
Scars on my journey of life to soften,
With her ceaseless care, my ache to lessen.
A guardian to curl my excess zeal,
Exert weight to force me digest my meal,
Jail me as a chained prisoner at home
For guilt of flight of mind viewed unwholesome.
Oh Lord, my sincere appreciation
To honour me with graceful compassion,
A son disposed to lift me from a fall,
Within bounds of my muscles to recall.
An agent to compel me seek relief
In case I am dipping down fitness grief,
Convey me promptly to a health centre,
Stepping in the shoes of a cute mentor.
Since youth, gifted with a bold, daring mind,
Quite warm spirited, but beaming with shine,
With spills of sands of time has now matured
And kindness with love for all does nurture.
Without his relief, I might have sunk down
Resting as dust and bones somewhere around
Within the profound depth of the ocean,
Where the waves undulate in commotion.
My regards also to you Mighty Lord
For awarding to me a standby guard,
An elder son to weave a missing link
In my fate-smitten tapestry of ink.
Sounding a sharp siren from the distance,
He strives to secure my shine in silence,
Ready to fill the gap in case of need
And complement desired support, indeed.
In the background, a grand-daughter in bloom
Whose sparkling smiles convey joy to my room,
A bright budding mind with a silver glow,
She ties you to the heart like a stream flow.
Penultimate, in the simple back scene,
The seedbed of the bloom, kind mate has been,
A dutiful mother, a caring spouse.
A daughter-in-law, kind keeper of house.
Thank you forever, for Your divine grace,
The treating doctor, Your arm across space,
A proficient shining ace in his field,
Trying hardly to raise my health uphill.
