Women, limitless

Ayesha Nilmadhub.

À l’heure du tout à l’image et du buzz sans suite, «l’express» souhaite faire découvrir la plume de poètes, de chanteurs, d’écrivains et de tous ceux qui jettent leur âme sur le papier, et qui mettent en mots des réflexions profondes.

I am a woman,

not defined by your definition.

I am not your silence.

My voice is not yours to tame.

I will not apologize for my tongue

to entertain your thorns.

You prick yet I still choose not to bleed

for you.

I bleed when my body decides to.

I am not here because of you.

I am a wildflower

growing beyond your garden.

I bloom, unapologetic.

I am the woman

who speaks even when it hurts,

who cries and rises through the flames,

because I rise faster than

the shadows

meant to silence me.

Behind me walk the echoes

of women before me,

reminding me

that rising is in our blood.

Every barrier I break

is for the women who come after me

so they rise higher.

I am the storm and the sun,

sky and ocean,

impossible to contain.

My tears are the map

that leads me to my becoming.

My success is becoming myself.

I turn pain into power.

I turn my bleeding heart into poetry.

For every hand that tried

to hold me down and

every word that tried to cut me deep,

you are part of the story,

not the ending or the

beginning.

And you, my dear,

you will remain immortalized

in my words

slowly fading into memory,

dying like a rose I once watered,

petals scattered and forgotten.

Just like that, I am reborn,

stepping gracefully into my revival.

The world is not gentle,

but I still bloom

because I refuse to stop growing.

I am more than your labels and limits.

I am limitless
