As part of our Primary Years Programme (PYP) Exhibition* on the theme Peace and Justice, we have been learning about the challenges faced by vulnerable members of our community. During our research, we were deeply touched by the work of Lakaz A – a local organisation that provides vital support to:

• People who are homeless

• Individuals struggling with drug addiction

• Mothers whose children are affected by substance use and who need counselling

• Children from difficult backgrounds, who are offered food, play, love, and care by volunteers every Saturday

We were especially inspired by the kindness, compassion, and hope that Lakaz A brings into the lives of those it helps. We strongly believe this important work should continue – and that everyone deserves a chance to feel safe, supported, and valued.

To help, we are raising funds for the renovation of the Lakaz A building. Renovating the space will allow Lakaz A to continue offering its services in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

It is a celebration of students’ knowledge and skills developed throughout their PYP experience, marking the end of their primary school journey. It is the culmination of a significant inquiry involving self-reflection, collaboration, inquiry, action and presentation to an audience. It is an opportunity for pupils to share their message with others (and even the world).
