Plumes engagées
Thread AcrossTime (Raksha Bandhan poem)
Parameshwaree Munisamy-Odoy.
À l’heure du tout à l’image et du buzz sans suite, «l’express» souhaite faire découvrir la plume de poètes, de chanteurs, d’écrivains et de tous ceux qui jettent leur âme sur le papier, et qui mettent en mots des réflexions profondes.
How conspicuous,
To tie a thread.
To strengthen a bond,
Delicately adorning a wrist
That rises to shower blessings;
A hand that protects,
And shares without asking.
The innocence of sibling ties,
Somehow, somewhere,
Disoriented
In the course of modernity and adulthood.
Often cast adrift
In a world full of chaos,
This red, orange, and multicoloured thread
Carries the sacred bond across the waves.
No matter how tumultuous
Or rogue the currents may seem,
The relationship always finds peace
On the shores of a brother and sister’s existence.

Bio
A Mauritian poet and writer whose words echo with resilience, memory, and the quiet strength of womanhood, her work draws from the personal and the universal, often reflecting on hope, inner healing, and the layered beauty of everyday life. With a voice that is both tender and unapologetically real, her poetry carries emotional depth and clarity. She finds inspiration in her surroundings, her relationships, and the strength that blossoms in silence. Outside of writing, she cherishes time with her family and finds meaning in life’s simplest moments. Her creative path is guided by sincerity, intuition, and the enduring power of words.
