The latest event in the British Council calendar is The Connecting Classrooms programme. It is an environment walk scheduled on Friday 23rd May from 10.00 to 14.00. With climate changes and their effect on mankind, the British council has taken the initiative to mark its stand. This environmental walk will be from Mauritius Telecom Parking lot to Plaza Theatre in Rose Hill.

Three schools are taking part : Mauritius College, Shri Shambhoonath Government School and France Boyer State Secondary School. Students, teachers and rectors are all invited to the event. It is very encouraging to find our youth leaving for once the grey walls of the schools to raise awareness on pressing environmental issues. They will stress on the fight against pollution and the need to recycle. In this effort, the students hope to encourage Mauritians to contribute in caring for their environment. To encourage them, the Mayor of Beau-Bassin/Rose-Hill and the staff of British Council will join them in this march for ?green?.
