THE INFORMATION ABOUT RATION RICE HAS BEEN PROVIDED
I wish to refer to article published on page 7 in wednesday?s issue in connection with the PNQ on ration rice and to request you to rectify in relation to the sentence «la réponse du ministre donnée en moins de cinq minutes n?a pas donné les precisions sollicitées».
I am enclosing a copy of the reply made by the Minister and you will note that all the information requested by the Hon. Leader of the Opposition in his PNQ has been provided.
R. Hosany Permanent Secretary
Ministry of Industry, small & Medium Enterprises, Commerce & Cooperatives
NOTRE REPONSE :

CANDOS HOSPITAL STAFF, THANK YOU
I have often come across the mistakes, inefficiency, mismanagement, misconduct among our public hospital staff through the newspapers. While I cannot deny that these may have some truth in them, forgive me from experience, for suspecting gross exaggeration on the part of dissapointed patients/relatives.
I and my husband have stayed as patients at Candos several times, myself due to child birth as well as other treatment necessitating minor operation under anaesthetics and my husband for sciatica/back pain ailment and at another time for Chikungunya treatment. We concord to profess our admiration and offer our hearty thanks to the staff in general, be they nurses, doctors, domestic workers, etc. who have always been helpful, deferent and conscientious of their duties in spite of enormous work pressure coupled with limited means, which they manage to complement by their smile, courtesy and patience towards often very hostile patients already prejudiced against them.
I thank in particular the staff of Ward No. 9 where during my stay of 2 days on 13th and 14th of May 2008, were always courteous while looking after me and my fellow patients so well with such dedication in the face of such odds and pre-conceived ideas against them.
May I point out that I am not a great admirer of Civil Servants in general whom I often find to be lazy, inefficient, parasitic, greedy, if not simply corrupt. Take it therefore from me, allergic to government employees in general, I cannot find the proper superlatives to express the efficiency and dedication I found among the staff of ward No. 9, in particular (i.e. where I was), including Dr Rajkumar and Dr Mrs Takur. May almighty God bless you all.

MAURAS COLLEGE: PERTINENT QUESTIONS
The press communiqué of The Mauras Dental College is misleading. It doesn?t answer the following very relevant and pertinent questions.
The university under whose aegis is the Dental Degree awarded by the Mauras College recognized. Is the University of Bhavnagar authorised to conduct degree courses outside the geographical territory of the state of Gujarat and under what legislation is Bhavnagar University granting affiliation.
Is the Vice Chancellor of Bhavnagar coming in his official capacity with the consent of the University or is this his private visit sponsored by the Mauras Dental College.
Does registration with Tertiary Education Commission amount to recognition of the BDS Degree if yes under what legislation. A detailed response will clear a lot of prevailing doubts.
