Joel de Rosnay, who has been entrusted by the Prime minister with the mission of transforming Mauritius into a ?sustainable island?, has invited members of the private sector to a ?conference-debate?, which will be held this morning at the Labourdonnais Hotel in Port Louis. The famous scientist and researcher will suggest ways of reducing the country?s dependence on fossil fuels by promoting the use of a broad range of renewable energies. He also aims to organize a World Ecological Forum in Mauritius by 2012.
