MEF celebrates ? The Mauritius Employers Federation (MEF) is celebrating its 45th anniversary. A number of events are being organised during the next few days on this special occasion. A training programme for trainers is being held from today until the 14th of December on basic knowledge in business. An improved version of the booklet ?Creating your own enterprise in Mauritius? will also be part of the programme. The Maritim Hotel will be the venue for a conference on sustainable companies and job creation tomorrow and on Wednesday.

New cranes in the port ? Two-long awaited- new cranes are due to arrive at the Mauritius Container Terminal at the beginning of next week. They are scheduled to start operations in early January. Meanwhile, the Mauritius Ports Authority will reduce its activities so that there is no major upheaval. Imports and exports should not be disturbed. The acquisition of these two cranes is expected to reduce congestion in the port.
