DIVALI CELEBRATIONS. The annual festival of light will be once more celebrated with the sharing of cakes and cultural events. In this context, the Grand-Port Savanne District Council, in collaboration with the ministry of Arts and Culture, is organizing a huge show at Rose-Belle Stadium tonight. Famous Bollywood artist Kunal Ganjawala, with his singers and musicians has flown to Mauritius for this special performance.

PARLIAMENT RESUMES. The new parliamentary session tomorrow will most probably be very animated. The opposition parties, the MMM and the MSM will express their concern on several issues. The MMM wants explanations on a meeting of planters concerned by the Tianli Project. Minister Gokhool will have to answer queries on the alleged removal of certain books from the official book list. The MSM will question issues of rape cases and violence in 2007, the Procurement Act, the closing of La Bastille and Bala Kamachi?s departure from the Major Crime Investigation Team.
