We refer to your issue 4th June, 07 page 15 from India the article ?God is in the market? by Sauvik Chakraverty from Times of India. We are very upset with the mention in the article of the following:

The Prophet Muhammad, (Peace Be On Him), said: ?he who makes money pleases Allah?.

This is a blatant lie as Prophet Muhammad, (Peace Be On Him), never said that which is totally contrary to the spirit and teaching of Islam and the Qur?an. Everything comes from God as a mercy and God is not in need of anything.

For your information any saying of Prophet Muhammad, (Peace Be On Him) when quoted must mention the original source and a report is only considered sahih (veracity) when the names of the Companions who transmitted the saying is traced from one another up to the Holy Prophet Muhammad, (Peace Be On Him), himself.

Event hough we do not expect l?express to verify contents of an article but we deem it important that l?express kindly publish this ?mise au point? as publishing lies attributed to Prophet Muhammad, (Peace Be On Him), is a provocating challenge to Muslims.
