– C’est vrai que Made Of Money a triomphé plus difficilement que prévu et il y a une raison à cela. It was indeed a pretty tough race but it was a very gutsy run considering the fact that he lost one of his shoes during the race. I learned it afterwards and that was why he took sometimes to make his run when entering the final straight. From his wide draw, he came across nicely at the start and I opted to sit second and let him settle. The pace set was not what I was expected but had I moved earlier, that could have cost Made Of Money the race. I made my move at the 400 metres mark and in the home straight, there was a little bump between Jumping Joshua and my horse but the latter kept going well to beat the field in the last 50 metres. He showed his big heart and about all his versatility.

■ <B>N’aviez-vous pas eu peur lorsque Mark Neisius a logé une objection contre vous ?</B>

– Pour être honnête, oui, car on ne sait jamais ce qui allait sortir de la salle des commissaires. I was, however, convinced not to have been faulty against Mark Neisius’ mount. The Racing Stewards did their work and I’m happy for the trainer, the owners and everybody at our stable. This win was important for us and Made Of Money deserves it.

■ <B>Made Of Money n’a pas eu la tâche facile samedi. A-t-il montré ses limites ?</B>

– C’est l’impression que ce cheval a donnée samedi dernier mais croyez-moi, il a une bonne marge de progression. He can still improve and there’s lot to come from him. He won in a strong field against some of the best horses of the island and mind me, he is yet to show his best. Il a gagné contre des adversaires de calibre et cela nous a donné un certain repère quant à ses prochaines courses.

■ <B>Auparavant, vous avez mené Oisin Breeze à la victoire. C’est la confirmation des belles dispositions affichées par ce cheval actuellement ?</B>

– Oisin Breeze a remporté une victoire laborieuse même si cela a paru facile. J’appréhendais un peu cette deuxième sortie de ce cheval car, c’est un in and out performer. Il était fit‚ mais il ne m’avait pas donné un good feel lors de son travail à l’entraînement. Since he was carrying a light weight, I pushed him in front and he started to pull hard. He kept fighting with me until the back straight where I let him go. He just kept going well to win. I believe that his light weight made the difference contrary to his opponents who had heavy mass on the back. Oisin Breeze a gagné avec à la clé un joli chrono mais il demeure quand même un coursier imprévisible.
