I refer to the article headed ?Histoire Figures? by Chit Dukhira which appeared at page 8 of your issue of Tuesday 1st May 2007.

Your readers may be interested to read what M. Pratap had written in the Album of my late mother-in-law Mrs Sati Sahay (born Sen) when she was in Japan on 27th March 1928 and 1st August 1942. M. Pratap along with Behari Bose and Anand Mohan Sahay who was the representative of the Japanese branch of the Indian National Congress, were among the other leaders in the South East Asian countries who hepled to fight for the independepence of India during the 1920-40?s. Here is the text written by M. Pratap :

?As we all have to breathe to live we do manny things to sustain this life. Anger, hatred or envy itself play their roles. Saints of the past taught us to suppress and destroy our evil feelings. But I say understanding the plan of the Creator live, create and die so that you enjoy life and give pleasure to your absolute soul ! All those enjoyments are bad which end in pain. Pain, to give pleasure to human life, to establish better society, is a necessity but pain brought about as the result of pleasure is crime. We have to thus work that on this earth, throughout all mankind permanent joy will prevail. Consciously and conscientiously, let us work to that end. In doing it is our best enjoyment and pleasure of the Creator.
