● <B>PROTEST. </B>After a first demonstration ten days ago, the national anti-suppression platform will take to the streets again on 9th March to protest against the abolition of subsidies on SC/HSC exam fees. This time, it will start at Place Cardinal Margéot in Rose-Hill. The university students will hold their general assembly on Wednesday, 7th March to decide on measures to take regarding the potential 20% increase in general fees. The president of the students? union has already warned that they would not hesitate to go on strike or organise demonstrations.

● <B>CELEBRATIONS. </B>Mauritius will commemorate its 39th Independence anniversary next Monday. The president of Madagascar, Marc Ravalomanana, will be the guest of honour for this national event.
