Three dead in Israel suicide bomb
A suicide bomber attacked a bakery in the southern Israeli town of Eilat, killing three people, police said.
Witnesses speaking on Israeli radio said body parts were scattered throughout the building. It would be the first such attack by Palestinian militants inside Israel since in April 2006.
The Red Sea resort of Eilat is popular among Israelis and foreign tourists, having largely avoided violence by Palestinian militants.
“Our assumption is that it's not one bomber, and there might be more bombers in Eilat right now,” said Bruno Stein, Eilat’s police commander. Three separate Palestinian militant groups have reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack: Islamic Jihad, al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades and a previously unknown group calling itself the Army of Believers.
