US authorities have charged 27 people in four countries in connection with a worldwide child pornography ring whose youngest victim was an 18-month-old child, US Attorney General Alberto Gonzales has said.

The US government has accused the 27 suspects in Australia, Britain, Canada and the US with using an internet chat site to sell and exchange pictures and view live video streams of sexual abuse. Four of the suspects allegedly molested the children.

The chat room images represent the ?worst imaginable forms of child pornography,? Gonzales said in Chicago on Wednesday.

The ring was broken up after a multinational investigation. Authorities have been able to identify seven of the victims.
