Death penalty for rapists, murderers and drug suppliers !

Just think about the little Paradise Island of Mauritius! All those huge buildings, IT centres, women on the move, schools popping up like mushrooms and big hotels? But let?s have a look at our society. What do you see? Peace? Unity? Humanity? Are we all one people, one nation? And what about Men, or more precisely men? Where have these ?amazing?, ?supreme? and ?beloved? creatures of God reached?

Let?s get out of our illusions and let?s face the truth! Men! Men who are considered to be the pillar of our society and the shoulder or the captain of the ?weaker vessels?. But what has happened today? When I look at the manhood race, I still find an uncivilized creature! An animal which is still wild and still acts and reacts not by reason but by instinct! Uncivilised, unsocialized, wild and savage men! Violence, drugs, rape and murder, this is all that I see. You are moving back the stages of socialization, men!

Today, when I see how these men are raping innocent girls, baby girls, women and even old grannies, it makes me look down upon this race called ?men?. Fathers are raping daughters, brothers are raping sisters, fathers-in-law are raping daughters-in-law, uncles are raping nieces, cousins are raping cousins, neighbours, our first helpers, are raping neighbours and they have not even spared themselves! They are raping small boys! I do think and I ask : where has humanity gone? Where have all relationships gone? Where has respect gone? Today, it has become impossible for a woman to walk alone in the streets or travel in the bus without being harassed by a man. The fear of being sexually harassed or being raped and murdered is gradually taking over deep in the heart of almost every woman. Reason has been replaced by evil thoughts; love has been replaced by lust.

Murder? Murder is becoming the easy way to get rid of witnesses and proofs. Where has their conscience gone? Is it dormant? I don?t think so! They have murdered their own consciences. When I think of how they are murdering people, it?s just like they are playing with balloons and red water colour! How could they do that to two old ladies : sixty plus thirty stabs? Even a cave man would not have done that! Let?s forget about enemies, they have come to the point of murdering their own people, their family. They have become cold blooded. Why? Don?t they think that we are all answerable to God? No, they don?t. Their souls have been lost. Certainly, the devil rules!

Let?s talk about drug dealers now. Drug dealers or the ?merchants of death?. What about them? They are the worst of our society! Drugs, the seed of all evils such as violence, rape, larceny, murders and so on. It has caused unemployment, dismissals, poverty, divorce, violence, prostitution and homelessness. Just have a look at jardin de Plaine-Verte. Drug suppliers are making their deals openly before the public and members of the police force. Drug addicts are injecting publicly, without fear or hesitation. Is the police force blind or are their hands tied? Are the authorities concerned and doing their jobs properly? Heroine and Subutex still continue to enter our country. There has never been a scarcity of illegal drugs in the island. Then, how?

How is this possible?

Today, IDU (Intravenous Drug Use) has been the main mode of transmission of HIV/Aids virus. Until recently, more than 90 % of the new HIV/Aids patients recorded had been contaminated by IDU. Moreover, many housewives are getting contaminated by their drug addict husbands through unprotected sexual intercourse. As a chain, these women often pass the virus to their fetus. People who still have prejudices against HIV/Aids patients, I ask you, are these housewives responsible? Are their fetuses responsible?

Everyday, I see parents, grandparents and children crying because there is a drug addict who is also HIV positive in their family. Are these people responsible? They are paying the price for those who are among the most responsible, the drug dealers! But do the people, or more specially the drug addicts, lack information? Certainly not! Several outreach prevention programmes are being held by social workers to sensitize people. Both counselors and medical team are going towards them. They are even performing HIV screening. Then how do they lack information or medical facilities? It?s as if the devil has made its home in their brains! But still, the main criminals are the drug suppliers!

Where has Justice gone? Shall I believe that the law shall punish these tyrants? No way! They talk about human rights? About remission of sentences for the criminals? Can?t they see that they are encouraging rape, murder and drug dealing? Till when will the criminals continue to commit serial offences? They must be stopped! I say and I am sure that many victims, parents of victims, almost every woman and few gentlemen left, shall agree with me that all these rapists, murderers and drug suppliers and dealers should be hanged. Mauritius is certainly a paradise. But it is now becoming a rapists?, murderers? and drugs suppliers? paradise!

It?s not too late. There is still some hope. We can still work together and make our society a better place, a little heavenly paradise again! Wake up people! Wake up! Tomorrow it can be me, you or our family and friends who could be victims of rapes, murder, drug addiction or HIV/Aids virus. Will you still stay quiet and be a spectator then? Wake up! Wake up your soul and conscience! The law must be more severe. Death penalty should be re-introduced to stop these evils! Rapists, murderers and drug suppliers must be hanged! We people, with the help of the law and socialization agencies, can still work together for the betterment of our society! But law must be more severe! Where there is a will there?s a way!
