Open letter to Mauritius Telecom
We are not so naive as to believe that technical hiccups will not happen. What we cannot understand though is why, in such cases, Mauritius Telecom (MT) fails in its obligation to advise us through the local radios, just as the CEB or CWA does, that they are actively working to restore the service. Take the ADSL upgrade last Wednesday night. A proper service has not been fully re-established with the result that we are not receiving our emails amongst the other services provided by MT. ADSL is by no means cheap in Mauritius. It works out at Rs 60 daily for a mere 512 k for residential customers. And try and get a refund! Talk about a monopoly?
