Thatcher taken to hospital
■ Former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher was admitted to hospital on Wednesday after complaining of feeling faint. Thatcher, 80, who held office from 1979 to 1990 as first female prime minister, was taken to hospital by ambulance after falling ill at her hairdressers, her spokesman said. ?She was feeling unwell, rather faint and not herself,? Mark Worthington said. ?Doctors have carried out a series of tests and they appear to be fine.? He said Thatcher was ?sitting up and chatting? late on Wednesday and would be released in the morning if she has a peaceful night.
