New trendy shop for more customer satisfaction
Brigitte Charoy leaves nothing to chance. It seems as if she is always looking for improvements to get closer to perfection. She already had an original shop in Pointe-aux-Canoniers full of uncommon clothes and accessories but this was obviously not enough. She has totally redesigned her premises, thanks to an architect from Artema. Her brand new shop will be officially opened on Thursday 24th in the presence of the minister of Tourism and Leisure, Xavier-Luc Duval, and the minister of Commerce and Industry, Rajesh Jeetah.
“As usual my son was the one who inspired this project,” explains Brigitte Charoy. After she set up her shop in Mauritius, her son came to join her and give her some help and support with the marketing. And Brigitte Charoy looks very happy about this, as it gives her more time to do what she really likes: going abroad to look for materials and new trends, designing products for her shop and welcoming customers.
With the new shop, it is an even greater pleasure for her. “My son told me, ‘You manufacture beautiful, original clothes, which have a certain standing but is it worth the effort if the shop doesn’t reflect this quality and standing?’ And then I realised he was absolutely right… As usual!”
She brought back a lot of heavy silk from India, with which she made curtains and carpets to decorate the premises. The establishment now takes up the two top floors of the building that Brigitte has bought. Her office – which the designer likes to call the “aquarium” – is separated from the shop by a large window. Even the fitting rooms have been re-designed with silk and linen curtains and comfortable leather armchairs inside.
All this has of course been done to make customers as comfortable as possible. Brigitte Charoy wants her shop to be a pleasant place where customers can sit in the garden at the back and have a drink with her. She wants her customers to feel perfectly at ease and stay as long as they wish and do their shopping at their own pace.
Even if she admits that the renovation work has eaten up a great part of her budget, she doesn’t regret her decision… And hopes that this will be the first of many other initiatives to try and attract more high-class tourists to Mauritius!
