I have taken an ADSL package of 512Kb from Mauritius Telecom. I have to pay Rs 1828 (Vat Inc) each month. I?m extremely disappointed with the service. The connection is very slow. At times, I have no connection at all. I can?t even check my important email. Do you think it?s easy to pay a fee of Rs 1828 each month for ADSL 512Kb and only have a connection of 20Kb-100Kb? What is the use of paying so much for ADSL? In so many countries ADSL is very cheap.

Mauritius Telecom is still the owner of SAFE. Why does the Government not break the monopoly? Why is MT SAFE so saturated? I?m sure they will offer a better service than Mauritius Telecom. By now in Mauritius, ADSL should have been below Rs400 for 128Kb and Rs600 for 512Kb. What is the role of ICTA in Mauritius? They have to do their duty correctly! So many articles on ADSL are being written in the newspapers. Nothing is being done up to now.

When will the price of ADSL and Internet be reduced in Mauritius? I think everyone using Internet or ADSL is fed up with MT. Enough is enough, we have been suffering too much. What is the role of the Minister of Telecommunication? Is he aware that MT is selling false 512 Kb ADSL thus stealing our money? Is there any law to protect the customer? Why don?t we make a survey on MT SAFE and see its real capacity? Why does the Government not remove VAT from Internet and ADSL?
