30 Chinese couples say 'I do' in paradise!

The stage was set at the pretty venue of Ile des Deux Cocos in Mauritius. 30 lucky couples were flown in from Shanghai to exchange vows in Mauritius as part of the 'Amazing Love' Mauritius Wedding Trip event. The Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) and its partners organised this 'celebration' in a bid to increase visibility among Chinese tourists. The couples were thrilled to be treated to a fun wedding ceremony, a photo shoot, and a honeymoon in the island.

In 2013, 41,913 Chinese tourists flew in to Mauritius (as against 20,885 in 2012), which is an increase by 100%. Getting married abroad is a big trend in China, with couples choosing exotic locations. The Ministry of Tourism has been organising intense campaigns to woo the Chinese tourist, and this year the objective is to attract around 60000 travellers.
